They've been able to do this for a few years, they did it with a big irish cross something called Barnaby and it was in the national papers. (I remember because we had a massive irish cross shire/tb called barnaby too) I think it was pretty cruel tho the first time, it took multiple attempts and the stump was sorry and blistered for a long time. Eventually he was sound and healthy but i think it too far too long and was done because the owners didnt have the guts to put him to sleep, they even admitted it
