Well I think its time to rug up

I think im going to have to give in this morning and stick a rug on Beau, ho hum, winter is well and truly on its way!

tell me about it! I'vehad a rug on Pidge for a while now and he is getting decidedly hairy at the top of his neck! think it will soon be time to get him clipped.

Its such a nightmare knowing what to put on though, as it can get out lovely later on, but its freezing now!

I know as when I do them in a morning I leave just before 8 and it can still be quite cold. but there is plenty of grass still although not much shelter and they are having a couple of slabs of hay at night now too. Have been leaving the lightweight on Pidge in the day as field is quite exposed and upping to mediumweight at night when it drops below 10. would be easier if work didn't get in the way

It's apparently going to get down to only 3 or 4 degrees tonight. Brrrrrrr.

it feels like its november caz its so cold and dark. i have had a heavy weight on alice at night this week caz the wind has just been so bitter and she feels the cold. but come sat we will be bringing them in a night.

Well it was freezing this morning! My WB looks like it's the middle of summer though, not even slightly furry! Weird horse....I've left him naked again today to see if it registers in his brain that IT'S COLD!!!!

If its any consolation - mines had a mark todd h/w stable rug on now for 2 weeks

Weather is still very up and down here but the nights are very cold already

I know :O( I clipped Henry at the weekend and he's now in his full neck 70 gram rug - prob too warm in the day but he got a full clip so for the time being he'll just have to manage! Meant to be FROSTY tonight!!

mine have been rugged almost all summer, was -2 here last night & supposed to be the same tonight!

Mine had his MW on for the first time last night (has been wearing his LW all the time for a few weeks now) and still has it on now. There is almost no grass in his field and he is a TB type so don't want him loosing much weight!

Mine have been rugged up for 2 weeks now. One even has 2 rugs on already!!

Its to be -3 in Scotland tonight! my mare is such a wimp and has a heavy weight on already!

Well moved the hay out the way and 3 of ours are now out with lightweight rugs on... oh dear... here comes winter!
