Last week a 6yo child was bitten during school hours in the playing field at our local primary school during a games lesson....... 2 dogs were brought into the field off the lead by an adult. The field doubles as the village park and is council maintained.....Why on earth there is not a ban on dogs entering this area I do not know! Only a few weeks ago I reported to the Dog Warden that the grass was being used for dogs to foul, her reply was that there was nothing within her remit to deal with this situation provided the poo was cleared up, this despite dogs cocking their legs on the games equipment while the children were there.
After the child was bitten the dog warden told the school that the police should be called in, and that they sould ot allow the police to fob them off..... it should be taken very seriously....... thank god it was the jack russel who did the biteing and not the big lab!! Talk about shutting the gate after the horse has bolted!
