sounds like yours is my horse's long lost sister or something lol...got through about 5 so far too, all of which shredded to pieces!

I've had that this year too. Other owner wasn't that bothered until I asked her for one of hers to put over my rug and hers came in shredded same day. She got a right strop but didnt really have a leg to stand on as since Oct/Nov Ive got through about 8 rugs - some of them repaired twice! She's now given me one of her unwanted rugs to put over mine and it'll be binned at end of year.

if i could do that i would, but bit of a height difference, my little one is 11.1hh, ripper is 17.1hh

Oh poo, yeah luckily there was only 3 inches difference in our size rugs! I found the topical sprays and stuff didnt make any difference. Our only other option was to split the horses up (eg divide field in half). Might not be practical for you tho.

When B was out with another horse that ate rugs I put mustard on it - he didn't try it again. It stained the rug tho and it smelt for a while...

tried a few things over the last few days and nothing has stopped her, cant muzzle her as she will not be able to eat the haylage then, although i dont really give a hoot if she can or not

still not heard anything back from owner after i sent a photo of the rug to him yesterday.

My two are always ripping each others rugs, its horrible isn't it! Soul destroying! Especially when they're Rambo's!! I bought some no bite and sprayed the rugs liberally, left over night to dry. Next day when I took rugs off I discovered my tb had a rash over both shoulders, only explanation I could think of was the no bite!! Rain must have washed it from his neck cover down through chest onto shoulders! So now back to sewing rugs every night!
