The 9 month old coblet has been going through as rather 'challenging' phase!
After being the world's easiest baby I think it's fair to say he has found his feet, we've had LOTS of coltish behaviour recently. This is despite him being a gelding.... I had those whipped off as soon as they appeared!
We've had prancing, snorting, bucking, farting, lots of head tossing and more annoyingly, nipping. Sometimes quite hard. Obviously this isn't acceptable so I've tried growling at him (ignored me), a very loud 'no' (still ignored me), a slap on the muzzle ( he just did it and ducked the next time) and ignoring him ( he just did it again, harder)
This afternoon, he nipped me again so I grabbed hold of a chunk of his shoulder and bit him, hard. Boy did he look surprised!
Now, bearing in mind he is a very floofy mingy coblet who had been out in the rain, it isn't an experience I would recommend. However, it seems to have done the trick. Lovely coblet reappeared this evening, lots of licks and kisses and cuddles and no biting! However, I may be speaking too soon....lets see what tomorrow brings
