This video is so laughable for so many reasons.

the cat thing the text refers to is 8.46 onwards if you don't want to waste 10 minutes of your life, but the first 2 or 3 mins are full of classic "how not to.."

Got to love her choice of opening music too??

thats what i thought to.....

however how to make a horse non fazed about the whip and it needs a little encouragemenmt to go over the jump...i would wiorry about the horse learning to stop at jumps.....

I was just about to ask the same question. I only watched about a minute or two, but what is going on there?

Good Grief........

i would call that "cruelty"...

Parelli bollox has a lot to answer for....

Exactly what I thaught. I dont understand how waving a whip around is contacting the horses natural side :S.

The lady in the video did not do those that practice parelli any favours at all from what I saw of it. I watched the first 4 mins or so but then got bored.
The horse looked bored, confused and lame in my opinion. I have no sound on you tube so have no ideas of what voice commands she was giving at all.
The horse seemed to be dragging its off hind ( do I have the term correctly, ie correct leg?). It looked unbalanced as it cantered too if my eyes are correct.
The first few attempts at jumping seemed ok but then the horse just got very confused ( in my opinion) and started refusing as if to say ok so what do I do now.
I didn't see the point of the exercise at all and yet I am a parelli and natural horsemanship fan but I failed to see what the horse and handler were gaining from the session shown in the video.
The only interesting part for me was the cat following the string as that did make me chuckle.

You can say that again. Horse gets loose schooled over a couple of jumps, lady doesn't reward good effort, lady's body language gets confusing, horse stops in confusion, she doesn't put the jump down to help, the stopping pattern is reinforced...

It did make me laugh when she started trotting & cantering expecting horse to do same but horse just goes "yeah right". THAT's parelli sense in a horse - he's got her sussed to a T!

In some ways, everyone's got to start somewhere, so lets hope she's learning.
