Wellies for stick legs

I have some ariat mud buster wellies, which are great but as these are now the 3rd pair that have had the rubber split halfway up the leg, swiftly followed by splitting across the foot, I'm kind of thinking that I will be looking for new wellies very shortly

Now I have stick legs - literally stupidly skinny calfs and ankles, which makes many wellies too big in the ankle for me and so they get pulled off in the first bit of mud they see (we are on clay....). I also do like the robustness of the sole on the ariats - much thicker and stronger feeling than hunters

Now are hunters still having a bad name for random splitting in the sole, or has this been improved?

I also have fairly long legs (34" inside leg) and so some wellies just feel odd if they're on the short side, as this means that they usually come to my mid calf

So if anyone has any suggestions to fill my ridiculous criteria I would be grateful. I have looked at the leather boots (toggi/ariat etc) but the cheaper ones of these I need a half size, and I haven't got quite enough money as yet to get some grasmeres which is what I really want!! Also I'm not sure with thr leather boots whether they will stand up to the mud wading I have to do at this time of year!

Suggestions??? Please help before my wellies dilemma drives me completely potty :)

Well I haven't got stick legs but I love my Ariat mudbuster wellies, so warm and comfy. My daughter goes through wellies like chocolate, think she's tried every make except for ariats....when she's older she'll get a pair :)

See I do like the ariat wellies - but I've just had enough of having them split. It's a right PITA! So as much as my ariats are comfy and warm I don't think I'm going to be able to stretch them out til the end of this winter.

The grasmeres are the best boots out of the leather ones for my stick legs, but I just don't trust the sides are going to stand up to the mud wading lol

I don't know whether to risk trying another pair of hunters - I had hunters before my ariat welly debacle started lol
