Anybody got any photo comparisons of a photo of a Welsh C and D next to each other? Can't find anything online surprisingly, lol!

As above - they are both cobby subtypes of welsh, only difference is height, some of the Ds don't look very ponyish anymore though.

One is a C and one is a D. Both very well bred. Both multiple winners in the show ring.

Genuinely didn’t know that, I thought there was a point they became over height.

There used to be an upper height limit but there isn't now and hasn't been for 20 odd years. The ones that go over 15.1/2hh-ish lose their pony characteristics and just look like horses. Big heads, long legs etc and the movement isn't there anymore. The big flashy trot is gone.

"The upper height limit of 15.2hh was removed from the breed standard in 1907, and the Welsh Cob was split into Welsh Sections C and D in 1949, creating the four Welsh breeds; the Welsh Section A, Welsh Section B, and the Sections C and D."

Ah ok. I know they do go over height, a friend has one that’s about 16.3. He’s gorgeous but not classic Welsh D

Yes, mine is 15.1/15.2hh and is more of a small horse. He doesn't have the flashy trot at all, though he's quite an elegant looking chap.

ETA he's got a little bit of feather but if you trimmed it and pulled his mane I don't know if you'd necessarily be able to tell what breed he is.
