Starting to keep a quiet eye out for a young Welsh D filly. I like them but not massively ‘in the know’.
Want a bigger sportier type rather than a show type.
Any good Facebook pages or stud pages to be stalking??

Maesmynach stud have long produced bigger, sportier Welshies and are very good to deal with. They are very hospitable!! Mine is a bit more traditional bless her but at 16hh and with a fair bit of scope and typical Welsh fire, she is huge amounts of fun. There are many of them competing and being solid citizens. There are other studs producing larger Welshies and Llanarth stud have a very smart part bred(not sure of age though!). I believe Thorneyside produce bigger Welshies but if/when I acquire another it is most likely to be a Maesmynach! :)

I have a thorneyside welsh sec D- it's possible that she isn't typical of their lines (I bought at auction, so didn’t see their other stock), but she is only just 14.1 in shoes at 5. She does give the impression of being bigger than she is though, a lot of people are surprised she's the same height as my other pony.
I will also consider a maesmynach when I am in the market for another (although likely not for a while yet, unless I win the lottery! 😆)

Maesmynach would be my choice, nice sporty types but still with all the Welshiness you can handle

Plus with the added benefit that you can actually fit a damn saddle to them!
