Does anyone know how long it takes the society to reply?
I requested a registration form and passport form about 5 weeks ago. Also followed up with an email request for the same 2 weeks ago, but no acknowledgement was forthcoming to either.
If it takes this long for the forms to arrive, how long before documentation is complete?
Would I be better off applying for passport elsewhere for my foal?

Haven't dealt with them for a while but they are not very efficient, managed to loose passport when having owner changed over and had to get a new one issued. Good Luck

When I used to use them them they were very good, but haven't used them for about four years now.

I sent for my application form and it arrived with microchip + applicator shortly afterwards (around 10 days). It may be that there are a large number of applications being made at the moment - give them a call and they can tell you how long it will take. Be patient, the WPCS has a large membership and will be dealing with huge numbers of applications!

Mind you saying that, 5 weeks seems excessive to me - if there not responding I would definatly call them. Also if there is a delay in sending out the application there may also be a delay in processing it so you will want it in sooner rather than later!

They can be very slow - I sent my passport off to change the ownership and it was with them for over a month.

If you have pure bred welshies hang in there, as they will be worth a lot less if they are not registered with WPCS, and I don't think the WPCS will "overstamp" another society's registration.

If you value your foal don't even consider getting a passport from elsewhere! You will lose all her bloodlines and be unable to show her in any Welsh classes (you may not want to show her but circumstances change and it would be the same for a new owner) - you reduce your foals value by half by not regestering her with the Society.

Give them a ring!

Oh and the breeder would be furious I suspect!

I have been waiting for my new foal passport for weeks now too. I originally was waiting on my prefix to be okayd by central prefix, i have had that back 3 weeks now. Will be ringing then again monday.

In their defence they did send my forms and microchip next day delivery ( i had my vet coming the next day for another horse ) i paid the money over the phone.
