OK, have done battle with Photobucket and had to use OH's laptop, but finally have a side view of our pony, who has thoughtfully been named David (Dave or Daffyd to us!). He's a 13 yr old rather institutionalised RS pony, who we are trying to retrain as a "normal" riding horse by showing him the big wide world outside the school arenas and small woodland :D or at least we will when the weather decides to be warm and dry long enough (not allowed on local tracks if they are wet). His passport says Welsh x but loads of people say New Forest, and he seems to match that well enough, but open to ideas, c/c on conformation, etc. Please excuse the mud. Double choc cookies (made by daughter, lol) for replies :)

Many thanks, A good friend used to breed NFs and she was first to suggest it when she saw a photo, and others have agreed. He arrived at the RS with his field mate who has a more welshie face and is a bit smaller.
We had a little hack today, walking up the track through a golf course and round the grounds of a school (permitted outside term time and children not back till next week), a small section on the road and then back. My daughter was riding, I went on foot with a plastic spade to remove "evidence" on the school driveway , and was pleased to not be too puffed by the most exercise I've done in 3+ weeks. Dave was a very good boy, though he kept an eye on all the motorised lawn mowers on the greens and school lawn!

Think he looks more Nf too. Does he have any feathers, or has they been trimmed? Nf have far less feathers than Welsh, but if he is pb that maybe why.
Nice pony. We have an nf mare, currently out on loan, and a welsh d, and yours looks far more like our nf, to the welsh.

Yes, he gets some feather but trimmed. Btw he is 14.1hh, and so sweet, seems to have lost a chunk of mane due to rug issue though :(, and what's left is very undecided which side to lay at the moment!
