Hi - I am interested in a Welsh x TB Trotter & wondered if any of you know any horses with these breeding & anything I should be looking out for. Standing at 15.2. Apparently great forward movement and sweet natured. Not seen him yet but would like any experience/knowledge on this combo before I see. Thanks.

I used to ride a mare whos mum was a trotter and dad was a welsh, she was a lovely mare, my friend bought her after she'd been broken and although they had some problems to start off with (was her first horse and only just turned 4 and just broken) she turned into a lovely little mare

this is the mare aged 3 and very fat

French trotter at my yard being re-schooled for riding, likes to trot f.........a.........ssssss.........t

Most uncomfortable to be carted in trot at the speed of a good gallop (so i am told)

But I assume yours hasnt been raced (doh)!

Trotters are great fun, I bought one when I was a teenager from a horse market and although when I bought him he was fairly poor once he was fit he was fab - had a good jump as well jumped to JA level, never lost his fast trot though much to the amusement of onlookers.
I'm sure you will have loads of fun.

i have a welsh x trotter, trot is fab nothing can keep up, doesnt do canter very well in the school prefers to trot, fab temperment 15.2 rides very big very comfy

Had trip to tavistock all planned and had been sent some pictures of him - looked very nice. They called last night to say someone offered cash and took him away there and then! (Made me doubt the sincerity of their sale as she didnt know where he had gone). Never mind, I hope he has a fun life. x
