I have a Horse by his sire Double Trigger. Best horse I have ever had. Will do anything for me! As for Double Cracker I dont know much about him apart from that he is very handsome. I know this doesnt help you but just thought id add it!

Thanks for that TriggersDouble- hes lovely! I rode a couple of Double trigger colts when I worked in racing-both had excellent temps. Shilascair- is there a reason why you don't like him? PM me if you want to. thanx

A lot of people seriously dislike Double Trigger progeny for some reason.
There is a video of welton double cracker competing at Nearcarne on youtube- thought he was very genuine to have done his job well considering the way he was ridden, in the dressage the rider was completly rigid and bumping up and down on his back, & the poles that he had down in the showjumping were most definately the riders fault!

I think he looks nice enough on the video tho!

Might be something to do with the fact that DT hasnt the nicest of temperaments and there is a sign outside his door that says say clear

I do have my reasons, but, no offence, I don't know you well enough to want to tell you....
If you are looking for a stallion from Glos way...how about the Hartpury boy Take it 2 the Limit...he's much nicer.

i have a 3yold by Welton Ambassador, has the most impressive temp and very clever, is lovely strong stamp of a horse and is very athletic, (16'3 baby) i can do anything with him and hes like a 10 yrold!! Hes currently being backed and you would think he'd done it all before!! From a conformational point of view my vet loves the way hes put together (my vet is fantastic but very pessimistic, hes been round badminton and likes event horses)was very reasuring to hear his professional comments and that he really liked him!!

I was going to suggest Take It To The Limit myself….he is doing really well in competition with Jeanette and by all accounts has a lovely temperament and has some nice stock on the ground

Yep i do like Take it to the limit as well (hav a very long list at the mo!) I did think he was quite a big boy though when I saw him a Badminton last year- and his B.E SJ record is'nt great. I'm also quite keen to stick to a tb or a 7/8th for the mare I hav in mind (shes quite chunky). -WDC does seem to fit her well as obviously being 7/8th tb as well as conformation and size wise too....

TI2TL- I saw him as a 5 year old, he is indeed very heavy- and I swear that the ground shook as he walked past! He is built like a castle!

Lovely horse and fantastic record tho!

If you read through his pedigree tho then he shouldn’t be as heavy as he is and I believe that his stock I’ve seen and that are on the HF stud website aren’t that heavy – I quite like them in fact

I don't like WDC, I don't like his back end. I knew a colt by him that had very straight back legs and ended up getting OCD in his stifles and was put down. May not of had anything to do with his sire.
I much prefer Ambassador.
I like Take it to the limit too, not seen him in person though.

I have to admit my take on the video was that the rider was bumping up and down because the horse looked so uncomfortable to ride and the way he hit the ground.
Very underwhelmed with his jumping

Well on a basis of TI2TL's record you can't realy fault him...3rd last year at Houghton ** and a 10th, 11th and a 2nd so far this season at OI, with his last 2 dressage scores being in their low 20's

But his showjumping record lets him down, he rarely jumps clear

We had a livery with a 2 year old by Double Craker - he was a complete nightmare!

As youngsters they have a complete self harm tendency and a half brother to this one did the same thing.

Spindley little legs and I don't like the attitude, too quick to throw strops. Not my cup of tea at all, but then I breed to have nice horses around the place!
