Sorry everyone, pointless post really just wanted to say, :D
Managed to go down to the New Forest, for the first time ever. Wow, how hardy are they, them horses did not spend this past winter, rugged up to their eyeball's or in a nice toasty stable :o. I just couldnt believe there was horses walking across roads and through woods etc, and no one bothered. It was truely amazing! Took hundreds of pictures :o There was a horse which had fell asleep next to a car door and the man returned to his car and didn't quite know what to do, was very funny.
Didn't have chance to ride this time, but next time I go I will make sure that I get riding in the forest! :)

I drive through the New Forest on business about every two or three months.

A couple of weeks ago I saw the following wandering along the roads; ponies, as you would expect, cows, only to be expected too, sheep, same, donkeys, umm that one was a little unexpected and pigs! Yup, great big porkers snoozing in the sunshine.

It is a beautiful area and as I'm in Southampton on Friday, I may just come home that way :D

i love the new forest and take my kids camping there every summer. i would love to live there and hopefully will do one day when the kids hve flown the nest! all that riding country and all those ponies, absolute heaven!

I can't believe you came to the forest and didn't come to see me  ;) :p :D :D. It's great isn't it. I love it when the horses, Cows or donkeys just stand in the middle of the road and refuse to move. I love watching all the people who don't have a clue what to do especialy if they think they are taking a short cut. Some get very anoyed and the animals just stand there as if saying " am i bovered". Glad you had a nice time. I would deff recomend riding in the forest you could come and take Herbie if you like :p :D :D

It is great down here, I try not to complain too much about our lack of facilities at the yard, as we just have miles of forest (plains and woods) to play around on.

I just couldnt believe there was horses walking across roads and through woods etc, and no one bothered.

It can be the case that some drivers though don't realise that they can pop out at anytime under bridges etc. it's one thing i absolutely dispise from drivers- speeding in the New Forest.

Glad you enjoyed your visit - its looking wonderful at the moment with all the mares and their new foals, donkeys, cattle, deer etc. They stand at my gate looking wistfuly at my garden - its a race trying to get my car in and out before a pony tries to barge its way in! :D

I am SO lucky to live here - I will never take it for granted. :)

The new forest is a lovely place to be, would love to move there one day, my 2 lads came off the new forest, its just a shame lots of them die every year due to car accidence's.

ps please post your photos! :D
