and came back with a saddle!

Due to my Wintec chafing woes on the Stableyard forum, I decided that I need to get a new saddle as the pain is starting to hurt my back due to trying to contort to avoid getting chafed.

I only went to the shop to get chaff- honest!

Then I told the owner about my woes (an understanding lady) and she showed my a second hand saddle she just got in- a Classic Saddlery (Walsall) close contact saddle in a 17" seat and WELL within my budget! It's got a VERY flat seat and a VERY low pommel. I sat in it in the shop and I didn't feel a hard chafey pommel at the front at all. It's hardly been used, only a few scratches which I'm pretty sure I an oil out.

I just googled it, it's this one!!!

I have it on trial anyways so I'm going to try it tomorrow morning. It's a medium fit but Sen takes a narrow-medium so it may be ok if I use a thick numnah. I hope it fits her!!

Please make sure you do get the fit checked by a saddler just to be on the safe side! Its more important imo that it fits the horse properly.

Very nice

I went to buy shampoo last week and came home with a leather headcollar and a bridle and forgot the shampoo

Just what I was going to say. Hope it is spot on for you and your horse.

LOL, I don't know which type of saddler she is

She does repairs and stuffing but doesn't build saddles so I guess both?

I measured Sen this morning with my Wintec measurer and she measured as a medium up from the narrow medium in March/April. I've been building up her condition and she's put on weight over May so I'm hoping this saddle will fit. I compared the gullet on this one to the narrow-medium in my Wintec and there is only a bit of difference. I was thinking that it was about time to change the gullet in my Wintect to the medium anyways so hopefully this medium fit saddle will be ok. I'll get the saddler to make sure though.

I've got the saddle here beside me (LOL, not letting it out of my site before it is paid in full or returned incase the puppy decides to eat it!), can't stop looking at it.

Yup, got the chaff
