Why just why :( been on a rampage to find somewhere else for him to go and no one will take a colt tried phoning around and managed to find a place which is about 30 miles away from a freind from my livery yard he would be checked everyday he cant be cut vet has said febuary when he will be ready hasnt quite dropped enough yet just needs a little time i dont understand why someone could be so stupid there is no way off fencing my boy off from her i am absoloutley worried sick that i am going to get up there to find him kicked even worse soo if anyone knows anywhere please tell me :(

Whereabouts in Hampshire are you? If you can narrow it down a bit perhaps someone will know something? Maybe say "within x miles of Winchester" or whatever...

I'm out of the area now but have experience of a few yards down that way, or are you really looking for a field / something less formal than a yard?

Do you have facebook? If you do, join the hampshire hooves group and put a post on there. Someone will have something I'm sure. How ridiculous to put a mare in with a colt. some people are so daft.

I don't really know any yards over that way, I was more Winchester area, but have you tried looking on NFED? May be worth a look. The closest I got to the Forest was School Farm in Lockerley near Romsey, who did livery 16 years ago when I worked there (now I feel old!) They had stallions on site but it was the sort of yard where the horses were too expensive to be turned out, don't know if it's worth a phone call though if you're desperate? Things may have changed... it was expensive though.

Hope someone comes along who can be more help than me :D

Hiya, sorry to hear thats happened :(

If your willing to take him to herts, my friend has a small cheap livery, she takes colts, she had my 2 on full livery before they were ready to be gelded. She also does diy...

Have you tried Decoy Farm up from Beaulieu Road? I gather they have some vacancies at the moment. Another place maybe worth trying is Norley Farm over at Norley Wood towards Lymington, YO there is ex vet and knows that colt foals are not necessarily the spawn of the devil... (you can google this second one)

I no decoy definetly doesnt she doesnt have the insurance :( oooo thankyou! He has been with geldings and been fine! Lots of phone calls to make tommorow i just hope somewhere can take himl

Try studs for proper youngstock livery. It may end up to far away for you to go everyday but most youngstock livery I have found is cheaper than even the cheapest DIY livery. I was quoted £100 a month to send my yearling colt, and that included basic livery, ad lib hay, suregrow, and basic care.

I quite often berate myself for keeping mine local and doing all the hard work when I could send them away on full youngstock livery for less than it costs me to slog it out alone!

I could cosidering his breeding she would get a bloody good foal out off him but its unfair on him causing him uneccerary stress and i dont want him to learn to that its acceptable finding somewhere seems impossible got one yard left to try going to end up sending him to my instructors yard at this rate in eastliegh otherwise he is going to go with a load off colts a a stud so fingers crossed that will end up ok! X
