I'm busily Googling potential hacking locations to box Kai to and was wondering about Wentwood Forest - what is the ground like, where can you park to accommodate a 4x4 and trailer, and are the routes well signposted?

Grateful for any feedback from people that have or do ride there.

Thanks! :)

Loads of good hacking in Wentwood- some of the routes have jumps too. The routes are reasonably signposted but I would go with someone who knows routes the first few times. There are several organised rides held there during the year inc one Endurance GB I Think. Parking is good in Cadira Beeches with a 4 x 4 . Plenty of firm hardstanding to park on and room to manouvere but there is a steep hill to get up to it from the Usk side. Good Luck and have fun

Paddy's Ride is a good organised ride that takes place in Wentwood, usually end of April / beginning of May. Curre and Llangibby hunt organise it so worth keeping an eye out on their website.

Thanks both - I took the dogs there today (figured I'd check it out without the pony to start with) and had a really lovely walk :D As long as the weather holds, I'll take Kai there tomorrow :D Once I sussed that the numbered markers corresponded to points on the map, it was really easy to find my way round so for tomorrow I'll pick a route then stick to it.
