Happy Christmas!

Taking my stage 2 BHS (riding / jumping and lunging modules) and wondered if anyone has experience of either Writtle or West Anglia College and can recommend which would be good / better for exams?

Thanks!

Avoid writtle with a barge pole! I done a course on stable management there and left after 3 months because half the time they didn't know what they were talking about and so unorganised, my instructor has said the same as he used to teach there.

I study interior architecture at writtle for a short period found its standards shockingly poor, found they didn't care about bullying even when it was about a disability. People I know on the equine course said horses were lame, care of horses was often lacking and my friend on an equine sports course is not being taught the correct course. My riding instructor as well as many other have said any person who qualified from writtle she would not consider for a job. Her opinion was standards had slipped alot in recent years.

The thing is all colleges are the same, I have been to both and wouldnt say one was better than the other really. The all have the same issues but just at diffrent times and a lot depends on who is running the place at the the time and that changes fairly regulary. Writtle has more horses so potentially more choice, I'd just go for which ever is closer.

Unfortunately I'm another that would say definitely avoid Writtle. Not sure on West Anglia but have heard better things about it :)

Oh also a horse was lame at writtle all the students were saying this but because he was only sligthy lame the instructor was still using him in lessons, in the end he basically destroyed coffin bone and had to go back to his owners and he can't be ridden now!!

Avoid Writtle. One of the instructors tried to teach us so saw the Horses mouths to achieve an "outline". Another instructor punched a Horse is the face for not picking his leg up.

I did my degree at writtle 7 years ago and had no problems with the course, yard or school horses. In fact I really enjoyed my 3 years there! Maybe it's gone down hill since then though :-(

Sorry, but it's not how I am finding my College to be like at all! Personally, I love it and cannot see much wrong with it, but hey ho, each to there own. But in the end, its purely on your own decision.
