Grr. Lost our headcollars and spare rugs, all we leave up there given they hit us twice a year. Gets very depressing, the stuff they take is worthless resale-wise, but expensive for us to replace twice a year. In the spring all they got was my 3/4 full bag of sugarbeet - so I don't leave any feed in bags now.
Thankfully horses all OK.

Yes, common time of year to be burgled horse-wise here. Why do they steal the cheaper unsellable things though?

thats awful but tbf I'd rather they take items that can be replaced as much of a pain and expense it is, I'd rather they left the horses well alone I'd mark your property if you havent already less likely to sell it on....I mark all my stuff so people can see it....

That must be a real pain! Glad horses are OK though. You could mark all your stuff.....I have a friend who has gone round ALL her stuff with a marker pen and put her postcode on EVERYTHING! Headcollars, bags of food, rugs, brushes, , buckets, etc. Bit of a pain but if they come twice a year may make them think twice?

All my stuff is marked with my name and postcode - so pretty much unsaleable, but they presumably didn't see that by torchlight in the storm...

If anyone down here gets offered some cheap postmarked stuff, please let me know!

Im over at Gwennap Pit, apparently a lady who rented the land a few years ago had her rugs etc nicked, I'd like to see someone whip rugs off my horses' backs in the dark

And the only headcollars up there are on 2 semi wild ponies

Id like to see them catch them 1st

I have no buildings up there so all my gear and feed at home!

Yes, we've had them taken off their backs before too. All mine have big postcodes on now, and everything has name and postcode in permanent and IR pen, but doesn't seem to have stopped them this time. My girl would go to anyone with a carrot or a polo...
