We currently have a white transit van paying regular visits to our stables - parks outside and watches us with the horses during the afternoons. I have attempted to approach the driver who pretends to be asleep and therefore will not speak to me each time I try! I've driven round the block and back past the van and checked - he is not sleeping.

Police have been informed, but obviously he's done nothing to report as such (yet) other than acting very oddly. Just thought it was worth warning you all given the recent spate of thefts.

It's a white transit can (the smallest type, I'm not a van person), reg FT53 AYL. Had ladders on the roof today but hasn't always.

That's very odd, does your yard have cctv? I would say it might be worth getting some, but some cctv quality is rubbish. Maybe you should start recording him or take a photo of him from a safe distance. so he's aware he's been clocked! It may be all innocent, but I'm always a little pessimistic!

I stood in front of him while I phoned the police and gave them his reg no (very loudly) - he didn't seem to care.

Stables are locked up and alarmed, however the tackroom's been cleared out before and the alarm didn't seem to deter them. Or the lock! Don't leave anything of value in there anymore.
