Hi :-)
I'd like to try western riding, might love it, might hate it but would just like to give it a go!
I've been looking online but can't seem to find anywhere within a reasonable drive. There was a western riding centre near Beverley but sadly it seems to have closed. Does anyone else know where I could go?
Many thanks :-)

thanks for the replies :-)
I did look on the WES website and saw Emma Chapman, but from her website it looks like she teaches people who bring their own horses.
I've got a horse- but no western tack and want to try it before I spend money on any. I'm guessing that like English saddles western saddles have to be fitted and aren't the sort of thing you can borrow?

Emma has a lovely horse called Ice that you could have a lesson on. You can also take your own horse and try western out in English tack, but if yours isn't trained it is difficult to get a feel for it. Ice is very well trained.

You can start Western in English tack, it's not about, the tack, it's a riding style. Emma is great & also check Guy Robertson who is in the Goole area. Have fun!

that's super, thank you. I'll send Emma a message :-)
That's interesting and good to know you can start out in English tack too.
thanks again.
