Have been pondering over what to get a friend for christmas. Then i remembered what a brilliant time she had barrel racing in Texas in the summer.

Does anyone know anywhere in the north west of england that does western riding, but more advanced? She is a good english rider, and her photos of barrel racing suggest she got up to some speed and very tight turns (how they don't fall over i have no idea!) so she would need more than a 'taster' session to get much out of it

Muchos hot choccy with extra ingredients of your choice if you know anywhere!

Have a look on te western equestrian society website or the AQHA website. They should have a list of instructors and centres.

i would also suggest getting a copy of the magazine WesternhorseUK either through subscription or you can buy it in some branches of WH Smiths. There should be lots of information which will be useful in the magazine and they do have a facebook page too. It is worth getting in touch with David Deptford at Sovereign Quarter Horses as he knows lots of people www.sovereignquarterhorses.com
hope this helps.
