Western Saddle Help

One of the girls on the yard have bought a western saddle.
I got no idea bout them but on the off side theres a normal length girth strap and on the near side theres an extra long strap. what is she supposed to do with the extra length after shes done up the girth?

It should go around into a tie type knot after being cinched up and then I tuck the slack into a few different places depending on the saddle and cinch. Sometimes the cinch will have a pocket of sorts to put the slack into. Other saddles will have a place to pull it through to get it out of the way. Sometimes there is no option and I just tuck it back into the cinch strap and get it out of the way.

I know they need a smaller girth, the one they had with the saddle is still loose even on the top hole.

They are not really meant to tighten into the hole on the mounting side. Just forget those holes and cinch it up tight and tie knot it.

I loop it through the piece where she has the breastcollar attached (breastcollar would normally fix to D rings on saddle)
