Peoples experiences?

We are at the stage where pink can be mounted like shes an old schoolmaster and now I'm saddle shopping, and seeing as she is a western breed, i seem to be looking at western saddles more and more. Although it may just be the fact that it has a handle that would possibly be very beneficial :o

Would a western be okay for a young horse?
Do they have the same structure as an english GP?

I know they are comfy for the rider, but what about the horse?

Ben and jerrys ice cream sandwiches for everyone.

Same as any saddle - if its cheap its going to be nasty !

Also if you are not used to one, then not sure it would be the best move on your part, as you won't be balanced.

Personally I'd go down the aussie stock saddle route, as these are more useful on a young horse.

Thankyou.

I have a GP saddle in mind anyway, just waiting for the funds :( Its a bugger because i got offered a lovely saddle for free not long ago, that would have fitted her for the beginning, and i didnt think we would have gotten this far with her so declined. F, F and double F!
