Had a dog in yesterday with a really snotty (like a kid with a bad cold) nose and a congested sounding cough. My first instinct was to isolate so that if she was contagious with anything she was at least not going to spread it about to the few other dogs that I had in (didn't notice when the dog was checkedin for a bath/clip til I had her on the table after the bath).
Anyway, I rang the owner and she said the dog has Westie Lung Disease, not contagious and gets this snotty nose now and again. I have never seen anything like it, despite nearly 2 years working as a vet tech and some 8 years grooming.
So I googled it yesterday and got some information about it, but I couldn't find information about the symptoms including a snotty nose? Anyone care to enlighten me so I can learn something new today?
