I did the same sodding thing as I did last week! Argh!!!! I'm so bloody annoyed with myself
Warming up he was being a sod, he wasn't making any effort over the upright and we must have had it up pretty high because it was almost the same size as my mum! But he kept gtitng into the bottom of it and having it down but when I went to jump the spread he cleared it by miles!
I went into the arena and our line to no.1 wasn't the best but we got over, 2nd fence he jumped perfectly. The first two jumps were jumping away from the main building and we had to go right up to the top of the arena and do a u-turn and just over 2/3's of the way down the arena was fence 3 and we were heading straight for the warm up when we had a bugger of a turn to fence 4 (this is usually the sort of time he buggers off
). Anyway, I really brought him back to me on the approach to fence 3 and gave him a bit more freedom 3 strides out and he cleared it perfectly! I got him back to me pretty quickly and we turned to 4 okay which was a 1 stride double with a spread as the first element and an upright for the second (The same type of thing which I fell off at last week!), I'd sat and watched the BN and Disco classes which has this combinatn included and the amount of people who fluffed it up was huge! I was bricking it but I picked my line and kicked on and he jumped his way through and was foot perfect!
At no.6 I sat and left him to pick his own strde and I thought he was going to jump off a long one, so I folded.....Then threw in an extra stride.....Then went to take off but stopped.....I ended up on his neck. I could shoot myself for for doing the same thing as last week!
When we were waiting for the fence to be put back up I thought about retiring but I'm very stubborn so carried on and we popped 6 perfecty the 2nd time. The final 3 fences were a large spread an upright and another large spread so this time I decided to sit and hold him until we were 2/3 strides out (I know I really shouldn't do that! I realy didn't want him running into his fences though). We cleared the last 3 feces perfectly and he got lots of pats
I then realised I couldn't stop!
I managed to pull him up eventually
It was so nice to leave the arena on my horse though rather than leading him
I think my round was worse than last week but I stayed on so I can't be too disappointed. I have a plan of action though, I'm going to try and get somelessons with Geoff Luckett because I reallt need to ge myself sorted but from now on I'll be going HC in BN or just a 90cm class if there is one until we get sorted
Bless Olympic though, he does so well to put up with me
My god that was long!
Sorry about my rambling, it hlps me to write everything down so I can see where I've gone horribly wrong
I shall put photo's of photo's in the PG
