Well, went all day yesterday to help a friend but didn`t take Rox as I wanted to do the British novice and the 1m open.
We got there this morning, (Monday) at 8.45 walked the course, and the fences looked ok apart from the big red square oxer and verticle double.
Rox was a little `off` in the collecting ring and just not really going anywhere but that is another story. We started our round and was doing brilliantly for time and clear and the last fence was looming, I went for it and folded and Rox decided that she didn`t want to finish the course but let me do it on my own. I went flying over the fence, landing in a heap.

The builder who is a friend, admitted that he had jinxed me as he`d said as I was on the way to the last fence,
"Looks like she`s gonna take the lead, its a fast time"!
Huh thanks. NOT.
So if anyone saw the rider on the floor at the last fence, it was probably me.

We have had some problems of late, and so just making it over the big red double and through the 3 brown fences across the middle of the arena being related distance to a double, I was quite chuffed, even tho I ended up in a heap.
In the 1m open. We had the pole off the first said brown one, and this upset her as she had to step over it and this shortened her stride, and I just carried on as normal, as I didn`t realise, and we ended up on a half stride to the double so another stop.

It was 2 phase, so ended up with 8 faults. Not too bad. But 2 weeks ago, we had double clear in the BN. So one step forwards, then 3 steps back???
Anybody else there?

Sorry to hear that you had a bad day, but at least you did jump in the bigger class, and had only one mistake.
My hubby was having such a good season up until Saturday, had 3 dressage score finishes in his last 3 events, then went and messed up the second last fence XC, he jumped first part of a combination at the wrong angle pointing at intro rather than PN second part, so had to circle and got 20 pen. Idiot, but he was so disgusted with himself.
Hoping you will be fine the next time you're out, and it was just a bad day. Maybe try and slow it down a little, so you're not trying to go on any really "long ones".
Good luck
Fiona

Thanks Fiona. Poor hubby.
When he said that I had a fast time, there were`nt many clears and even tho we don`t race round, we always make up the time with being able to turn after a fence as we are in balance. We got all the distances spot on in the first round. I had a few problems with getting 1 and 1/2 strides indoors in a double with 1njs, so getting her to go forwards was the preferred option. This has worked but today she was just not too bad in the first round, but fading in the 2nd class, not taking me in and it all started when we had this pole off.
I too am hoping that this is a one off, as I am having a bit of a confidence crisis at the moment but trying to overcome this with tapping and bach flowers etc. The last time out was great for helping with this but today didn`t help a lot.

Ah bummer.... went on sunday to find hundreds there!!

Went in the 1m which was the first class in the 'main' ring and came 3rd.. bless his cottons, then jumped me other horse in the 90cm and got a 4th, dead chuffed with him he was a star!!!

Well I`m glad that someone had a good day. Well done that was a great result, I`d have been pleased with that result too. Thanks for rubbing it in.

I think I may have relaxed a little too early. I`ll do better next time, well I can`t do any worse than coming off. Hopefully.
