Well............Today was NOT my day
When I put my number down I made sure I was right down the list so I had enough time to watch people go so I could make sure I knew the course.
Anyway, I walked the course and although it was small this week I thought it was really twisty. I stood by and watched some people go but I wanted to wait and see the JO being ridden but people were either falling off in the first round or faulting! I had to ask the course builder what the JO course was then I ran off to get Olympic off the box.
I hopped on and went and walked 2 circuits of the warm up and as I passed the shed I looked on the board and I saw that there were 3 people to go then me!
So I had a canter around on each rein, popped a x-pole badly, then a spread 3 times badly then went in feeling really poo
In the first round I must have lost my way 3 or 4 times, I had to make a stupidly sharp turn to avoid going the wrong way then I couldn't find the fence and ended up almost cantering straight past it and jumping it on an angle. Some how we made it around clear then in the jump off I lost my way AGAIN and ended up circling becaue he was getting strong and I was struggling to get him back to me after he'd locked onto a fence and tried to piss off into it so that was 4 faults and we had 2 fences somewhere along the line aswell because he just wasn't with it going into a few of them and he was taking things out with his front legs but everytime I couldn't remember the course I was panicking more which didn't help
but loads of people forgot where they were going, I think we all needed sat nav to get around the course!
However, I did have more control and more breaks today, he was coming back to me so much easier and the speed and rhythm were so much better so I was pleased with that.
Hopfully next week I won't ride like such a muppet and we might get a sensible double clear

And hopefully a video at ome point aswell.
