Decided to go as we woke up to beautiful sunshine. Got her all ready, loaded her up and set off at 8am, got to the motorway and the weather took a turn for the worse, it started snowing

but it turned to hail

and extreame winds..but we carried on as had no choice as was on the motorway.
Luckily though 10 minutes later it cleared up to beatiful blue skies again! However the wind was quite strong (And cold!) at W.L. Got on Tara who didn't much take to the weather, started being a total prat, so decided to work her in and get her round fairly quickly. Warmed her up and she was jumping OK, but didn't like the wind at all!
Walked her round till the one before me had gone in, and jumped the practice fence's again- and she ground to a halt into the oxer

VERY unlike her, but come into it again (with me being a bit more active!) and she popped it fine, so in i went.

Wasn't great having to go in after just having a stop, and the wind was blowing all the fences over. She didn't jump very well at all tbh. She jumped all the jumps going away from the wind nicely, but was really sticky going into the fences which where going into the wind. However she was jumping all the fences really big and nearly jumped me off a number of times which she has never done before

Unfortunately just had one fence down in the jump off.

Decided to head home after this instead of stopping for the newcomers as she wasn't jumping well and didn't want to wreck her confidence.

Hoping that the hunter trials on sunday isn't cancelled, think she needs a bit of fun round a xcountry course!

Well done you for going....dedication

!!! There was no way I was going to brave WL today....bet it was freezing!!
Out of interest, was it busy??

It was hideous wasn't it? I got there to do the BN and they hadn't started the 90cm class as the fences kept blowing down!

We did well in the BN to finish 4th and intended to have our first crack at discovery....but like you had had enough so called it a day at that

Braver people than me! I am with you Carthorse, there is always another warmer more pleasant day (I hope). At the end of the day I am an amateur rider and do horses for fun, cannot see what fun it would have been today.

It was quite fun really, but then I would jump in any weather so I can't talk

But im going to America next week so today was my only chance to showjump for ages(as I have d of e when 3 days after i get home), so I couldn't resist

My trainer wouldnt LET me go, she said youll be stupid to drive for an hour and have fences blowing over. Its windy there on a nice day!

Well done though, at least she went good in the ring
