Anyone tried, can they be recommended. Divvy TB fell on her knees in fear during roadwork due to a bus that came out of nowhere today - no major damage (slight scrapes) but need protection for the future.
I have a pair that I used to use on my old pony when she was still in work. I like them she landed on her kness in them once and the boots took most of the impact, she squirmed about a bit try to safe my friend from toppleing over her neck, she successfully kept her rider on board but the squirming caused the boots to move slightly.
absolutly brilliant. far easier than brushing boots and seperate knee boots. I have a set for every horse on the yard and wont hack out without them. be warned they come up big. my TB takes pony size, and the Irish horse a cob. Full is for shire crosses!
At my old riding school no-one was allowed to ride out without them. Not once in 5 years of going there and hacking out in groups (and being silly out and about ) do I remember anyone having any problems with them. There was every type of horse and pony there too
I've had a pair for Roz for about 6 years now. I have found them brilliant and you can canter, safe in the knowledge that they won't end up round their fetlocks! My pair have 2 fastening straps and are very easy to put on. My friends have a newer pair with 3 straps and I don't find them as easy to attach. They still do the same job though!
Brilliant, don't hack out without them, I've always used seperate knee boots until one slipped, my horse stood on it and I went over his head in a ditch, I then purchased these boots and they are great. I did have a pair from the same company which had a hard shell all over, they were a pain in the neck and kept turning slightly, stopped using them. The neoprene ones are great and don't move
I brought a pair after hearing good reviews but didn't like them, took them back - looked like they were going to be really restricting and they wouldn't bend properly to put them on.
I wish I'd tried them better as still looking for good knee protection for hacking - but £30 was a lot to spend to wear them once and decide I didn't really like them :-/
My show cob doesn't go on the road without his - he has full size ones and they're brill, wash them weekly and well worth £30 ......... vet bill £££££££, show cob's knees £££££, Knee boots £30....... simples!
For a TB I'd try cob size.
Yes, love them. They stay on when wet, don't end up round the ankles in canter like "ordinary" knee boots, wash and wear brilliantly and you could use them with a pair of overreach boots for travelling with a quiet one I think. My horse never actually tested them "in anger" but I have no reason to think they wouldn't give good protection.
I have a pair they are really good. However, I found if my horse is really being silly, he knocks them round. So I have to keep getting off and putting them on straight.
