Does any one use them? Or use knee boots for road work?

Am considering getting some as horsey has tripped a couple of times. He's an old lad but still more than fine for ridden work, but due to old knee injury he can be lazy with one foot and sometime just doesn't pick it up properly or he's too busy gawping at the scenery and doesn't watch where he's putting his feet !!

I say somethimes but he hasn't done it for months but last night stumbled over on uneven ground and scuffed his knees a bit............ luckily I stayed put and he got up without a problem and was fine (more interested in scary man hiding in bush than landing on his face!!)

Just wondered if the combined knee brushing boots are as good as they look - or are they constricting??

Thanks

ive used them and didnt like them, although theres nothing actually wronmg with them, i didnt find they were constrictive

i tried them because i was riding a heavier type horse with little definition to his knee, so regular bopts would just slide down his leg, however tight still slid, not like my tb types with their knobbly knees

they are worth a try

I love them!

Actually have a FS pair for sale if you're interested. I bought FS and have used them about 6 times, but cob fit better, so have got a pair of those on the way.

I think I will need cob size too - he's just 15hh and all my other brushing boots are cob size - but thanks anyway, what a shame!

So your horse didn't mind the feeling of the boot coming up over the knee when he/she is walking then?

I use them on my tb. They don't budge and he has never objected to them.
Our local riding school use them on all their horses and ponies for roadwork and as far as I'm aware have had no problems with them.

Not a fan of neoprene boots for summer :/

Agreed but .............. these appear to be the ONLY version on the market like it. I much prefer the idea of combined knee/brushing boots than just knee boots on their own as I think they just look like they will fall down and I'd then be frightened of them causing a trip hazard of their own!

He already wears brushing boots all round for hacking due to being an oldie he can brush sometimes if feeling a little stiff so....

I use them on my boy who trips sometimes. Like someone else said about theirs,he's a cobby type on which ordinary knee boots just slid down his legs.

The only thing is that you do have to put them on fairly tight or you end up with the knee cover at the back of the legs

.

We also canter, trot etc in them and his legs are never that sweaty after a ride.....

I have them - had them for over three years on a 15.1hh show cob - I have the FS ones.
Very highly recommend them.
