Hi

What are peoples opinions on westropp knee brushing boots? I have some very old leather knee boots, they are a pain to put on and don't seem to fit that well.

Thanks

If you and your horse don't mind looking as if you were going into battle then you will be fine

No seriously, Mine are great, saves time and I don't worry about them slipping like knee boots do for fast work, I bung them in the washing machiene if they are dirty. Loads of people have commented that they are a really good idea, but they do look a little odd! Mine are a full, and although my horse is a 16.1 TBxWB, they are a bit too big, but they don't slip of anything, have ridden through belly deep water and they haven't budged! Hope this helps

Thank you! I have no worries about appearance, she isn't the most conventional looking pony as it is

Interesting about the size, think will go for cob as she is mostly that size in other boots...fingers crossed!

I have a pair and think there fab too, I won’t go out the yard without them on now, yes they look a bit funny but I rather that than to have a horse with broken knees, mine in a full pair but he is a big 17hh ISH and they fit him perfectly,i got mine from barnstormers, they were fab, fast delivery etc.

They are brilliant and I can't recommend them enough. They never fall down like knee boots because they are all in one, and you can canter and jump in them without problems. I really don't think I would have my horse here today if it weren't for those boots, as I had only had him a couple of weeks and went hacking with my friend and a small girl from her yard tagged along on her pony. We all cantered across a field and suddenly the little girls pony stopped without warning and my horse got to close behind it and it kicked out. The pony in question hadn't even got any shoes on but due to the force of the kick he managed to slice open my Westropp boot across the knee pad leaving my horse with a slight abrasion. His knee would have shattered if he hadn't of had the boot on and he would no doubt have been lost. I for one would never ride without a hat, hack without a flourescent jacket and boots, leave a headcollar on in the stable and never, ever would I ever ride on the roads without adequate knee protection and these boots are a godsend.
