My horse was diagnosed with PSD in his left hind approx 6 months ago now. Following re-assessment he seemed to be showing signs of improvement and is due for a re-assessment in 1-2 months time.
However this week he has been dawdling out to his field (didnt think much of it initially as he's also arthritic infront) but today I've noticed that he is mildly lame on the opposite back hind, and its filled/swollen. He's holding it much the same as he did when I noticed the PSD on the other.
He's got the vet due for jabs so I'll ask them that side of things then, but I just wonder whether all this rain causing our fields to be muddy/poached is actually harming his legs..I can imagine its quite a strain to walk in those conditions all day!!
Anyone else's having trouble??
Spring anyone!?
