Wet patches in haylage

One of mine is on small bale haylage
It's usually very consistent in quality but occasionally there's a bale with a wet patch in one corner; there's no apparent mould and it smells fine, it's just a bit wetter than the rest of the bale
It is not due to damaged wrapping as far as I can tell
I chuck these bales away but am I being too cautious? It it probably ok to either feed the whole bale, or pull out the wet bit and feed the rest?

If it's not black mould, then I feed it.

Given your description I would pull the wet bit out and feed the rest.

I used to feed it at a long as it wasn't mouldy, but I have found that bales like that smell more acidic than others and some horses can't deal with them.

If it smells okay and packaging was intact then it should be fine.
