After a slippery hunter trial on Sunday I'm looking for a pair of gloves (preferably waterproof) that will help with grip in wet weather. I have rubber coated reins but they still slipped through my fingers a few times. The warmer the better but I'm after some that aren't too chunky. Any recommendations please.

some people might say mac wet, they are suppost to be very good, but i got a pait last winter and they developed holes in them almost instantly, and were basically rubbish. definetly not worth the money imo. others may disagree though
at the mo i am riding in rodney powel gloves, very good grip, which are nice, or leather ones, both were only cheap, and are both very good.

Hi there, I agree with the Mac Wet comment too I got a pair and, admittedly I wear them round the yard as well as for riding, but they got holey really quickly didn't last long at all so in my opinion not worth the money.

Got some Rockel ones at the moment they seem pretty good, not sure which 'model' but they have a fabric type back and leather look palms. Been good to date with grip and fit well although noticed yesterday a hole developing in the thumb! maybe I should have riding gloves and yard gloves??!! Just can't be bothered to change! Musto do a similar style.

Going to be the third person to say this about my MacWets! I bought a pair yes £26 and they developed holes in them

. So whilst at YHL I came across the MacWet stall and complained about them - I was told to send them back to the Shifnal office and they would issue a replacement!

Might be worth you sending yours off for a replacement too!

Now I have these, I bought them at HOYS and are fab - not necessarily wet weather glove though!

Really love these

Or you could ...

Go for these ...

I had a pair of the nitrile ones and hated them. They are so sticky at first that it's hard to do anything and unless you are riding a squeaky clean horse the minute you touch it and get dust / dirt on them they lose all grip - well mine did.

Thank you everyone. Might give the Roeckl Chester ones a try - have seen they do a cross country glove too so if they're any good I'll let you know. Will be avoiding the MacWet ones!
