So from my previous post, my poor boy has a nasty virus and an extremely low white cell count
Now I was doing searches about boosting the immune system and came across immunomodulation and transfer factors from colostrums
So would mares milk be of any value to a fully grown horse? It wouldn't be colostrum so I guess antibodies would be thin on the ground, but milk is very nourishing and still does have a certain protection factor to it. I happen to have a mare still producing as she was too fat to remove the foal.
Obviously I haven't put much thought about how to milk her and whether my boy will touch the stuff!
