Well for the last week i think i have been on cloud 9!!

Some of you know already but me and song have just (last weekend) returned from germany after doing our 1st 3 day event!!

Well we set off at 9pm on tuesday evening and finally arrived in Bonn at about 11am the next day

Had a day to recover and then we had our trot up! I cant tell you how nerve wracking it was - what if he didnt pass!! Well what did i have to worry about he towed me up the trot up and did more than he was supposed to due to lack of brakes - opps! Yee we passed!!!

Then worked him that evening then went to the bar!! Got very good at ordering white wine and had a little to much which resulted in a rather funny porta loo incident!!

So after the "white wine" night had to be up at 6 to feed and be on by 7 to ride in the main arena and have a lesson with ian! Did get shouted at a few times - not to self - make sure i get up later after having white wine!!

So worked him and then had dressage in the afternooon (i think) so worked him in again and he was stunning! Went in feeling very smart in my new tails (they should have felt good the price they cost!!) and he literally floated around the arena producing the best test we have both ever done so i was slightly disappointed with our mark of 60 (would have been 40 BE) but oh well - i was 12th

Then the XC - had walked it 3 times and given my self blisters with ill fitteing wellys so was a a bit of pain! We set of at a reasonably speed as the ground was hard and just sailed round with only 2 slight mishaps! one at each water - you will see from the pics!! Well we came back with 19.6 time pens so was now down in to 18th!

Then the 2nd trot up! after another late night this time on vodka had to get up at 5.30 to feed and be on by 6.15 to ride before by trot up at 8.30!! omg i hate early mornings!

We were 5th to go in the trot up and this time it was me i was worried about! - Think i was the lame one! once again he did me proud and sailed through the trot up, again doing to much!!

Then on to the sj - was a fairly up to height course so was slightly worried as his jumping can be a bit HIT or miss!! Lol But he went in and felt great and only had one down - so should have seen the size of my smile!!

So in the end i finished 16th and have a qualifying result so now just have to do a CIC** or another int or 2 to have my CCI** qualification!!

Well sorry for the ramble - now here are some pics!!
About to go in -

Thanks

Would love that to happen (will be trying) but doubt it will

Ye did hear about it - was going to go out as spencer had a load going but dont think its happening now! Thought it would be good to go out and to a few ints and a CIC** to finish! But oh well

Thanks for such an enjoyable report.
The dressage looks fabulous, shame they didn't mark you higher.
It must have been a huge thrill to see your name up like that too!
Well done, you're a step further up the ladder, who knows what will be the final rung, can you imagine the size of the H and H fanclub at Badminton?

Ad it was a junior yound rider section i think the standard was quite high

Walked the course with trainer who rides advanced/*** and he thought it was a big * and was more technical thean the one in france - but song just eat up the fences and is willing all the time, i just have to be there to say yes if he is unsure which is so good as we are both going up the grades together!

So neither the XC or SJ would have looed out of place at and average/tough intermediate

Lol! this season it has all seemed to come together SJ - have a new bit a myler ported comfort snaffle with cheeks!!

I have done one BSJA thing withg him but only newcomers? the one below fox and got a double clear and would have been 5th only we were on a ticket!!

Hehe...Well I don't really understand eventing terminology, but if that was CIC* then I guess that's BE Novice equivilent

If so, that's 1.10m SJ'ing (although the picture looks more like 1.15m

), and he's giving it a foot

If that horse won't go round a 1.30m track i'd eat my hat lol!

Ahh boys are okay, Bertie is so so - is off the pain killers (bute) and i keep him on coligone - he is a bit lame but putting on weight and looking well - so i have put off having him pts atm!
Winston, is sound YAY and will start jumping this week - planning to take him cubbing - and then concentrate on BSJA - may contest a few BE events in the spring and autumn but I think SJing is where we are going now!
Sunny - YO's horse is going well too - he hasnt put a foot wrong YET
wink.gif
and again the hope is to get him jumping again - hes 16 and been off work for over a year now - he was a JRN and Foxhunter in his day so hopefully he will show me the ropes.
Still looking for another baby horse - and looking for some schooling liveries to fill my yard.

So yep all in all everything is fine thank you hunny!

Ooo you have made my day hearing about Bally - please say thank you to your mum
