Well today has certainly had it's ups and it's downs!! The lorry did not want to start yesterday so Peter put it on charge last night and I was confident that it would be running this morning, but it was not to be!!! Poor Peter had to come home from work mid morning to start it for me as it was still flat and we decided to take the charger and extension lead to Myerscough with us just in case it did not want to come home! The thought of Shonagh and I doubling up and hacking home up the A6 was not something that filled any of us with joy! So we got the lorry started only to find the air pressure for the brakes was on full and the release valves were not working correctly. If I pumped the breaks the pressure went down but then built back up when we were moving. So on route to Myerscough we rang the Auto Rescue people who kindly organised a nice man from the Fylde Motor Company to come to Myerscough and have a little look at it. Bless him, he tried to call but there is no signal at Myerscough so he came to find me in the working in and the steward called me over! I sent him in search of Shonagh and off they went to fix the lorry whilst Mez and I concentrated on our dressage.
Mez was an absolute star! After getting over the shock of the horsewalker in action and then a burst pipe next to the working in arena she settled down and worked in well. It did seem today though that everyone was in the way in the working in and there was some bad riding and organisation going on! So into the arena we went to discover that Hils was judging! This is lovely of course but I always feel that I am going to be told off for the bits where I do not ride properly!! This never happens of course but it did make me ride better today! The test was our best yet apart from our 15m loops in canter back to the track where we broke momentarily back to trot as we became a little unbalanced. Our score was 64.84% and we were 5th. I was so pleased and happy for her.
So the horsebox is now fixed...it was a valve that had got frozen up and needed releasing which is a relief as I was starting to worry that I might not make it to my Stephen Clarke lesson on Monday.
Tea, NCIS, bath and bed now!!!...............or not as it seems the cooker is not working properly!!!!
