I just wanted to share my horses story, i first met him February 2011 at a rescue centre i volunteered at, he was underweight, too young to be away from his mother and had to be taught to eat.

The other day i rode him for the first time. He may be a prat some of the time, and we still have a long way to go, but he's come so far, and i'm so so proud of him :)

He's certainly changed.
My first thought though was similar to Megibos, if he was weaned at the beginning of 2011 he's only about 2 1/2 now?

He does look lovely and a credit to you. However if he is 2 1/2 he is far too young to be ridden, sorry but he's just a baby :(.
I'd be happy with what You have achieved at this stage and let him grow up for at least another year and a half before working him, that way his bones and joints can form properly and you'll have many years of pleasure ahead.

I only met him early 2011, he had been at the rescue centre longer, sorry i didn't make that clear, he is 3 don't worry!! :) He's only doing the odd plod with me on his back at the moment, he'll start actual work next year, he also had his first physio session yesterday to make sure he's all fine and dandy so he's not in pain or anything :)
