What a horse, Frankel 1st, the rest nowhere

Frankel 1st, the rest nowhere

Famous quote that :D

After his second victory in a race in May 1769 the Irish adventurer Colonel Dennis O'Kelly purchased Eclipse in two parts (50 percent in June 1769 for 650 guineas, 50 percent in April 1770 for 1,100 guineas).[3] Supposedly, at this time Captain Denis O'Kelly used the famous phrase "Eclipse first and the rest nowhere," before making his bets for this race.

Did you know? ... At that time, a horse that was more than 240 yards behind the lead was said to be nowhere.

Frankel really does seem to have that extra gear doesn't he? :)

Just amazing...the way he can quicken away from the pack is just unbelieveble...a true freak of nature. I do rather like the nickname Frankelstein though :D
I'd also like to send my thoughts to Henry Cecil, he didn't look well at all but hopefully this will give him a boost and wishing him the very best for his recovery.

Simply breathtaking - what a treat to watch, Frankel is pure brilliance.
And very touching when Henry Cecil said seeing that win made him feel 20 years better.

It was amazing as usual when you look at the other horses it seems they are in a different race flat to the boards and then he is just cruising along, you have to wonder if we will ever see him under pressure.

I nearly blubbed when Henry said what he did, and how fab was tax free the ten year old winner today his jockey was overjoyed rightly so.:)

The only sad aspect was how ill Sir Henry Cecil looked.
Fully agree and Frankel was just majestic, at no stage of the 10 furlongs did the result look in doubt, it was just a case of how far. He will probably be attacked for the quality of the opposition and the fact that St Nick was down in trip but it wasn't what he beat it was the way he did it. I didn't get a chance what the time was but the sectionals would be interesting as he was really motoring in the last 2 furlongs.

The best I've seen race; Brigadier Gerard & Mill Reef struggled in some of their races they didn't toy with the opposition like this one. A shame he has only one more race; think his class would allow him to win over 12 furlongs.
Think his trainer is an extremely courageous man too.

From an entertainment perspective, it would be fantastic to see him have a go at Longchamp in October. And there does seem to be genuine merit to the thought that he might well be very competitive over the distance. However. If I was the owner of a horse whose stud value was rated at well in excess of £100 million, I might also think twice about taking a chance of that nature. It's not quite as certain at 1 1/2 miles as it is at 1 mile....

But I don't own a horse like that so I would love to see him and Danedream have at it. :)
