Well I had 'the lesson' tonight with Ian Stark. Just got back from the pub but I am so worked up I cant sleep!!

Got there early and nearly had a heart attack when I saw the height of the so called little group!! They must have been jumping about 3ft. I should so have been on that lesson!

Started off with some trotting poles then some nice little grids. April was really enjoying it and was leaping and bucking around like a twit as usual (see sig!). It's just for fun though so doesn't bother me, you wouldn't think she was 20 odd sometimes.

Then the height just kept going up and up!! Had a minor blip when she cat leaped the last jump on the grid, unseated me and I dismounted and landed on my feet LOL. She isn't the most experienced so likes to give the jumps a good foot of clearance no matter the height

Then they put all the jumps up and up again and it was well over the metre mark on the wing and the last one was a really big spread. I have never, ever jumped so high!!

April was so amazing, I am so proud of her

. Had another blip when I lost my stirrup on the approach, she refused and I hit the deck

. Am going to have a cracking bruise tomorrow but hey at least my new body protector got put through it's paces hehe.

There were lots of people filming so will try and post some pics soon both to show the height (still can't believe it!!!) and to give you a laugh at the old ones antics and my getting dumped on the ground!

Now I just need to transfer it to the show ring and get over our stage fright lol.
Great lesson though, brilliant instructor and well worth it. Can't wait to go back round to see April tomorrow to tell her how amazing she is! Now I know she totally has the ability and we can work on our bravery together.

Oh it was! Am still buzzing

Have a bruise larger than my fist though LOL

No-one wants to comment *sob*

Ah it is early on a sleepy sunday

I have arranged for Ian Stark to instruct at a local BE course for our RC so I am chuffed about the recommendation!! Look forward to seeing the pics.

He is a brilliant instructor - tough and doesn't hold any prisoners but also funny and very approachable! He gave April a little cuddle at the end as she was shattered which I thought was really sweet. She's just a little 14.2 and gave everyone a good laugh as usual with her strong opinions!

I think he had us doing about 3'6 by the end of last night... that is just inconceivable to me lol! I have really only ever gone up to 2'9 in SJ comps and the occasional 3ft at home and on lessons. My poor mum was having kittens watching

He asked me if i was going to event her but I'm not sure if he was joking so just laughed as there's NO WAY I am brave enough yet and she's a little too old now to start that now.
Still we are having fun and that's what matters
