And we actually made the most of it for once!
My daughter Courtney rode her 4 yr old Tb, our friend Vikki rode her 3 yr old 7/8 tbxid and I rode my 12 yr old IDxWB Shona. We crossed the road from our yard and rode off road for an hour and a half and had a wonderful time seeing the sun burning off the frost from the ground across the hills, saying hello to dog walkers, getting slightly lost! The two babies even had a minor Hoolie up a hill using Shona as an anchor!
This morning made all the muddy fieldwork and mucking out worthwhile :)
Happy New Year everyone

Perfect hacking weather glad you managed to get out in it. I took Max out with my YM on her horse that she is bringing back into work after an SI injury and it was lovely riding through the village in the sun wishing everyone a happy new year. Max was in good spirits too spooking at all sorts of silly things! I have the next month off work so I am hoping this weather continues but not sure I'm that lucky :)

I managed it too! My 'now four year old' and I went out just after sunrise and had a lovely jaunt. Bright sun and crisp weather- stopped off with mum and dad on the way home for a cuppa and a carrot :D

Well worth getting wrapped up for!

Must be the new year spirit Tess was also full of beans and decided to spook at stuff she walks past daily :-) Nice to see the sun for once x

We had a gorgeous hack around the village (still having to avoid flood but ah well). Went for a splash in the smaller floods as well which was good fun :p

Followed by a lovely 20 minute schooling session as he hasn't had one in a while, so I thought I'd give him a good workout today in the nice weather:D

I went out for two hours around the pretty little villages below the Cotwold escarpment. Bit brisk on the open commons, but the sunshine made up for that. My mare was very much on her toes today, I think it's because they have forgotten what that shiny think in the sky is, and everything was sparkling!!

Weather wasn't quite so nice hear (at least it didn't rain).

But armed with waterproofs, long coat and an exercise sheet we had a lovely 10 mile hack today - both me and pony are shattered now!
