I have just had one of the nicest evenings in a long time! Managed to fufil something I have wated to do for a long time
grin.gif
I took Henry for a hack and Otto came too
grin.gif

Met my OH at the woods and he came on foot so he could grab the dog in case of an emergency, but we need not have worried!
grin.gif

Otto was BRILL!! Completely aware of the horse's feet, trotted along merrily infront, behind and alongside! Came when I called him
grin.gif
and even ran along behind me when I trotted
grin.gif

Henry was also brill, as he wasn't bothered in the slightest by the mad spaniel that kept leaping out the cover in front of him, splashing around in the lake or rustling around in the bushes next to him!
grin.gif

The sun was shining and it was lovely! OH even got on Hen for a little bit
grin.gif
and for any of you that now, Hen has been a bit iffy infront for a while now, but he felt fab tonight
grin.gif
Even threatened a rear when I stood still for too long

No photos this time, as I left my phone in the car

Sorry

Sounds like a lovely night, glad everything is coming together with your wee family unit

I love taking the terrible twins out on a nice sunny evening - we had loads of fun splashing about in the waterfall tonight.
Don't think I will ever risk throwing a horse into the mix though

lucky you!

I now have a dream about Bob and two greyhounds galloping through the fields together......

Sadly they would probably have left me at the first gate
grin.gif

Glad you had a fab time

I won't ever be risking the horse and the dog without someone on the floor to grab either one!! Henry is pretty dependable, but he can be funny with dogs (mainly labs and terriers!) plus I think he thought he was hunting today so got very excited
grin.gif
And the dog is still not that trusted

Otto is a good boy!!
smile.gif
I tried to do that with Sweep - but we failed miserably
frown.gif
......Sweep was just to interested in the hedgerows and just got left too far behind
shocked.gif
- was really stressful for me worrying about the silly daft mutt!!
crazy.gif
Anyway it only happened once - the next time I tried Sweep just took himself back home and refused to come out!!
laugh.gif
Now when ever I tack up he just mooches around and then when I mount up he just takes himself home!

Henry is really funny, he spends loads of time straining to say hello to the horses then hiding behind my legs if we actually get close to them (although in fairness the last time we said hello it was a ShireX with HUGE feet!)
grin.gif

*sighs* I miss having a ned to play with...

Otto is VERY wary of Horses! It was the only thing he had any experiance of before we bought him, he was bought from a Welsh Cob stud!
grin.gif

Henry is a ShireX with huge feet
grin.gif
but he is scared of all horses, even the dinky Shetland that is only a few inches bigger than him!

Damn my mental dog and my current lack of a horse! (only slight flaws in the plan!)

Lucy - are you sure you're not me???

I just need a magic free horse that comes fully equipped and can live on a fiver a week and never ever gets sick or injured in any way shape or form and I'll be off...

Is Henry the bay in your sig or the coloured in your avatar? Guessing the bay? He looks lovely!

I love heavier horses, would adore a ShireX... shared a Clydesdale once he was so much fun
