After watching the horse hero video of Laura B lunging her youngster, I was really impressed wit the lunging aid she used. I eventually bought one. Had to order it from Germany costing about £12 max including postage. Its just a long piece of rope with clips on the end and a bit of leather that sits by the withers.

Just looked on their site and...OMG...Albion are selling one for....£60...eeekkk.

it sayes ``The quality of workmanship in this lungeing rope is second to none``
and ``hand wound and varnished and laquered``

*passes around the baler twine*

Easier to order it there than work out euros etc perhaps? I found it easy though - just like ordering anything online. I could actually make one myself, literally rope and clips. (draw reins with a little leather pad)

...mmm....Chrimbo hols project...under cut Albion by £30!

Well P_P, one doesn't have to be a genius to work out euros... I've always ordered in three different currencies, pounds, euros and dollars and never had a problem.

I mean, for a saving of almost £50!!!

Hi all,
Maybe it's a reflection on how weak our currency is, + how dependent we are on imports now (thanks to government policy over recent years).
I reckon i could make a similar gadget out of baling twine!! Which will last longer than the rest, which are probably made in China...

On sale now, for £11.50!! (Only joking, dear Admin) While encouraging UK enterprise!

god damn it .. nobody told me about Germany! Purse is missing pounds now...

Haha, i'll stick to my line and baler twine. -Some companies will go the WHOLE hog won't they? Or do some people really have more money than sense - in which case they are entitled to their thrills, but leave my purse outa this.

Can anyone tell me have i been on something tonight?! Yikes

I have more money than sense, but then I don't have a lot of sense, haha!

Even so those prices are nuts !

I have to disagree! The Albion is worth it, after all it is handcrafted by twelve virgins on the night of the full moon, and the rope is twisted with hairs from the tail of a unicorn...priceless!

You get what you pay for with horse tack. I've spent out on pricey leather side reins & a cavesson & 10 years on they are still doing sterling work.

My nylon side-reins look tatty & has anyone ever found a cheap lunge cavesson that actually works without swinging round & cutting into the horses eye? The Albion cavesson is beautifully designed & their leather is always fab & good basic materials cost!

I'd prefer to pay the money & have good tack that lasts. It's like bridles, you can spend £30 or £150 on a basic snaffle bridle - I know which is the better investment in my opinion!

A very good friend of mine who rides professionally went to the DIY shop , bought himself some soft cord, pulleys and clips. In half an hour he had made himself a pessoa for about a tenner. Hes also a dab hand at whipping up a dually halter for a quid

Talking of Parrelli, Ive just seen someone sell a Parrelli saddle (used) for 2'500 euros

. The mug who bought it is 'over the moon'-on the other side if you ask me

I have the Horse Hero & the Kavalkade version of this in my tackroom (think it's fab for lungeing) & the Horse Hero one is made of much better materials, brass clips etc & no doubt will last much longer as a result.

Who is going to join me in a trip to B&Q for some of their rope?? Clips off two old dead leadropes and a toggle from your old duffel coat?
