Took the spooky one for a hack last night - I don't honestly know what posessed me!! He hasn't been ridden for about a month as I have been far too busy with work, and I have only hacked him twice since last November (he is terrible on hacks at the moment). Anyway, I went to the yard with the intention of riding in the school, and ended up donning the bright yellows and braving the roads.
Luckily it had been raining earlier so no tractors or combines about (would probably have been in Wales before I could stop him, lol!) We went for an amble up the road - I took him to the fields where my broodies are kept. The farmer was there, so I had a chat with him, then we had a fantastic blast across his newly cut stubble
and a sedate ride back home.
Apart from the obvious spooks, he actually behaved himself very well last night
For a 15yo that used to be ridden through the centre of town, past lorries and buses, you would think he would be an angel, but I think the countryside is a bit too scary for him, lol! Roll on Sunday and the next venture out on the stubble!
