Hubby (best one in the world) occasionally gives the choke chain a bit of a tug and makes me do something!! We have friends coming to see us tonight, and they love the horses - so we will go to yard - they will feed my 3 carrots till they turn orange and admire the prestine yard and stables. Then they come home to get changed before we go out for a meal......

Since 7 am (apart from a few posts on here) i have been cleaning the house - just been in the lounge and moved last years crimbo prezzies and even found some wrapping paper - so firstly i am a scutter and 2ndly obviously spoilt.

So thats the hall now only half a tack room, downstairs loo, dining room, lounge and half the kitchen done - i am dreading if they both want the loo at the same time the family bathroom has more shavings in it than my stable -ohhh i know they have been coming for a month now - why did i leave it this long????

Anywho - off to yard now to do nice house work - and sent hubby a text to tell him how special he is and how lucky i am to have him ..... do you think that may help to ease the fact his wife is a scutter!!!

Yep - you sound just like me ! I always dread the day when a guest would for some freak reason would want to open a cupboard !!!

At least you are not in work like me - my OH has turned out the horses for me this morning for me in return for erm... you know what (he's to smart for his own good)

LOL! Made me chuckle - a lot

The only reason I ever clean up properly is because we have people coming! I know we live in a building site, which is the perfect excuse but even the finished rooms have hay, sawdust and colonies of dust bunnies.

I am so extreme that once a house is finished and I actually have to keep it basically clean and tidy, we sell it...

Stables are immaculate though.

My mum picked my duaghter up from school last week and I said just drop her at home I will only be a hour - daugter is 14. I was mortifid (sp) when I opened the door to find my mum sat of the sofa.

Had not done washing up, hooved and all the underwear was drying in front room - great!!!

Ah, it all makes me feel so much better...

Renovated this house and finished about five years ago... and not done anything since then

. It takes two days to paint the hall and stairs (too many staircases!). Took me weeks to strip all the wood and paint. Couldn't get a good plasterer, so I plastered the top floor. I can honestly say that after that I never wanted to do any DIY again!

Now though, the bathroom has the tiles stripped off, one en-suite is wired but bob-all else done, the top floor has not yet been remodeled, the cellar is being slowly cleared by one daughter and the current study cleared by the other daughter. Everything needs repainting, the floors (stripped boards) need redoing, the stair carpets needs replacing or an amazingly good clean, and the kitchen needs a good going over.

Ho hum.

UPDATE - they did not come barr ruddy humbug ! - it was too wet for them to come to yard, but i had the great idea of walking to the "pub" well it always used to be with other half...... turned up, clean horse coat, walking boots, good jeans and t shirt..... why was everyone else in cocktail dresses, and glitterythings - did me nd other half get a few looks. 3 pints later (and at a fiver a pint!!!!!) i really did not care and got into awful trouble when i said in a rather loud voice "look theres bubbles" other half wet himself when very dead pan his friends wife said "which one, the little brittan one, or michael jacksons monkey"

we left the very snooby and up its self gastro pub not long afterwards.....
