Well, am shattered!! Poor Godfrey doesnt know what has hit him....
Well all started on Friday when I trundled down to Oxford to have a lesson with Gareth Hughes.. arrived at his GORGEOUS yard, feeling rather overwhelmed...luckily the G monster stood quietly whilst we sorted out where we were going and what was happening! Tacked up, got on and had a fantastic lesson, Gareth was fab because he explained everything so clearly, and really helped me get a better connection with Goddy and pushed me to start riding him for the consistancy we should now be expecting from him at this level of his training, instead of backing off him a bit and riding him like a baby....FAB! So after our long lesson (shattered!) we washed off, boxed up and set off to find BB's!
Now will glaze over weekend with BB's, as I know she has posted some reports in the Soapbox, but a brilliant weekend, lovely to meet other forum members (you know who you are!
) and G was a superstar lodger in the accomodation very kindly supplied by BB's.
Had a fab couple of hacks with the Lovely Winnie and Snoops, and then came back to Notts on the Sunday a very tired Kat!
Went for a quiet day on monday, just boxed up again and went for a 8mile hack down by the river, gorgeous but a rather tired ponio....
Anyway, yesterday went for a XC lesson with Brook Staples at Eland Lodge with MrsT and the fab MrP
Had a fab lesson, G was a superstar, still going a bit green on me on occasions, but when warmed up and going genuinely gave me the feeling he would take anything on, and jumped mainly PN combinations beautifully including big sunken road to a log on an angle, steps, ditches, Skinny log out of "water", bounce step to hanging log, with only the occasional blip from muppet here riding like a pleb, but G bless him still went and had a go.
Very very chuffed horse owner!! And a big thank you to BB's for the fab weekend, and MrsT for organising the lesson yesterday. FAB!
Sorry for essay and self indulgence....
but so pleased with my boy, he is genuinely tuning into a fab allrounder who is giving me so much fun because he is so easy to take anywhere and do anything with!
