A friend of mine has bought a "fat" mare that just gets bigger vet has taken bloods to check if she is pregnant. The person who sold the horse told her that she couldnt possibly be pregnant as she hadnt been near a stallion. THe seller has since tripped up on loads of lies she told about the horse and now the vet has been she says that she was with a stallion but it was young and couldnt do the business, also as it was a 12.2 boy couldnt do a 14.2 girl ! But where theres a will theres a way!

I thought it was odd, apparently he didnt want to get kicked!

depends on how sexually mature he is! some colts can impregnant a mare young and as for the height difference! well like you said where theres a will theres a way!! a stallion will dig a hole for larger mares to stand in so they can cover them! good luck to your friend i've done the same i bought my horse to stop her getting PTS as she wasnt in foal and low and behold 6 months after i bought her foal in my sig popped out!!! i did have blood tests done after i had her for 4 months so sort of expected foal to come unlike a friend who went to the stables one mornin and found a foal in her stable!!

Funny how the vet has taken bloods, when he could just stick a hand up for a much lesser charge.....

my vet advised he would not do this as i hadnt had my mare long and didnt want the risk of her rearing and him potentially splitting her! i had only had her 4 months at this stage and as i have to sedated her for the dentist we didnt think that she would be impressed with an arm in certain places!!!

My shetland was just a year when he was caught attempting to mount a 12.2hh mare
