Just been doing some sums and was quite gobsmacked by this! Still I did inclue all of the non-essentials and luxury items!

Please make me feel better!

runs off and hides, that is one scary question!!!!!!!!

Like _CJ_ i am very much in denial about how much a new forest pony can cost (thouhgt they were meant to be cheap to run! lol)

Not too much, probably about 10-15% of my income goes on Cropi but that includes my lessons as well.

In the winter when she just has to have a new rug maybe a bit more

i dont work it out either, basic livery costs for 3 is 350 per month , then there is all the entry fees, diesel etc on top.. i dont think i want to know what percentage it all adds up to !

I'm loathe to admit to the number of horse we own when people ask.....they're all a bit, err, "money no object"........however, I honestly cannot remember the last time I had a proper holiday and holidays (and the need for a new front door, hall/stairs/landing re-decoration!!!!) never come into the equation!!!!!

But I do love and enjoy our horses, regardless of cost!

100% as only work part-time with horses but won't begin to work out the addtional percentage of hubbys salary................

I took an evening job & work weekends to pay for mine. My main job paid for the house. With redundancy round the corner this could all change, but I wont give up the horses without a fight, not having given up my evenings & weekends for 2yrs to have them.
