I recently bought some off Ebay, they were sold as new. Apart from looking like they may have been tried on and the odd piece of hay in the velcro they look new to me, still in the bag etc. So I put them in cold water to activate the crystals and the next day nothing, read the instructions on the PE website and it said the first time they are used they need 24hrs soaking. 2 days later they still look the same, havent expanded at all. Ive got them in a bucket of cold water. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for any replies

I have these - they came with both cold water inserts (largish blue with granules easily felt inside) and ice inserts (small grey, plasticy).
They work ok for mine - but maybe try using warm water to soak them?

Thank you, these have nowhere to add inserts. I borrowed a friends before hand and you just put in water for a few hours for them to activate and swell. Mine havent done anything in almost 3 days

I have PE cold water boots and they don't puff up? so they sound like yours. They do stay quite cold though. We use them at endurance like that and they're good.

TBH I have recently discovered that my ancient neoprene stretch and flex work just as well as any of the expensive ice boots I've tried though if you soak them in iced water. ha.
